Balanced Health and Healing
Self-care is a necessity, not a luxury.

Kim Hilborn, LMT

The greatest accomplishment of my life has been earning the letters LMT after my name.  I had dreams of becoming a massage therapist for over 30 years. As a recent graduate of the Alaska Institute of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture and Massage Therapy, I made my dream come true! I am continuing my education with Medical Qigong training, and have been certified as a Qigong instructor.

I have always believed in the holistic approach to healing. The benefit that therapeutic touch provides both physically and mentally is the cornerstone of holistic medicine.  I have worked in public schools and privately with students of all ages who experience all varieties of extraordinary personalities, emotional trauma, and physical challenges. I have personal experience with chemical dependency, mental health, including suicide, and PTSD. This history has made me uniquely able to use my massage skills for healing energy beyond a sore neck. Although, I've been told that I am great with that as well.

I have lived the Alaskan adventure for 31 years. My two daughters love to share stories of all of the places they have lived and the family camping trips we enjoyed. As a carriage driver, I have worked with horses who weighed over 2000 pounds each!  My love for giant animals extends to my home where I have always had at least one or two giant breed dogs. I am a Master Gardener and I am enjoying the learning process of being in my second year of beekeeping.
